The Wallkill East Rotary Club continued its tradition of helping our students on their road to greater literacy by presenting all third-grade students with dictionaries of their very own.
It’s a tradition that goes back to the spring of 2008. Dr. William Bassett, a member of the Rotary and a former superintendent of Pine Bush schools, said the group has several service areas, one of which is the community’s youth, with a focus on education. After that initial distribution in the spring that year, the Rotary has gifted dictionaries to our students every October since.
In third grade, students are learning dictionary skills and having a dictionary of their own helps tremendously. Plus, they are really thrilled to receive them.
A big PAK thank you to the Wallkill East Rotary Club!
