What a magical St. Patrick’s Day for the students in Amy Roepe’s pre-K class at Circleville Elementary School!
The eager kids made their very own leprechaun traps – some at home and others in school. On Thursday, they set their traps in the hope of catching one of the cagey pixies.
On Friday morning, the students discovered that Lucky the Leprechaun had indeed been there, leaving special notes and surprises in their traps. They loved their gifts that included festive glasses, gold coins and necklaces. But no Lucky! His footprints were all around the classroom and up to the window where he made his exit!
But that’s okay! The children loved their bling and enjoyed several activities centered on St. Patrick’s Day. They read their favorite book, The Night Before St. Patrick’s Day, made festive headbands, created beautiful four-leaf clovers and even danced! They had a math exercise that was so fun and connected to Lucky! Such a fun way to celebrate the wearing of the green!
