Walmart teams up with Pine Bush High School for successful food drives

Generosity abounds, especially at this time of year. Pine Bush families and staff have been incredibly giving to those in need this holiday season, as has our extended community.

Pine Bush High School received a $1,400 grant from Walmart of Monroe for its upcoming holiday food drives. According to Kelly Wohlgemuth, coordinator of the food drives, this grant allowed for more ample food baskets this Thanksgiving and for the upcoming winter holiday drive.

“With this generous donation we were able to get numerous non-perishable food items including stuffing, cranberry sauce, instant potatoes, peanut butter, jelly, oatmeal, dry cereal, and instant pudding along with some turkeys and hams,” said Ms. Wohlgemuth.

That makes a big impact on the community.

“The Thanksgiving and winter holiday food drives provide meals to approximately 80 families from the high school and a dozen senior citizens within the community,” said Ms. Wohlgemuth.  “Walmart has been a huge asset to making our food drive successful. We are extremely grateful for their generosity.”
